An outstanding British glaciologist prof. Roger Braithwait once said: “GLACIERS MELT-OUT IS AN ‘ICON’ OF GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGES”. It is nothing unusual in the history of Earth, when it was almost completely covered with ice but also ‘suffered’ of tropical heat in the whole. How it happened, what is going on with glaciers now and what will be in the future, we can learn on examples from different regions from one pole to another.
